The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A brilliant oenologist, Peter Sisseck—nicknamed “Pingus”—has revolutionized the Spanish wine scene. In the heart of Ribera del Duero, he founded Dominio de Pingus in the 1990s, recognizing the untapped potential of ancient Tempranillo vines.

Working with near-century-old vineyards, farmed organically and biodynamically, he relies on native yeast fermentation and ages his wines in large oak casks—an approach that brings out the full character of the region’s prized soils and native grapes. Every detail contributes to the singular identity of this iconic wine, now regarded as a benchmark in its own right.

Widely considered one of the greatest wines in the world, Pingus has earned multiple 100-point scores from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate—including for the 2021 vintage we’re proud to present. Peter Sisseck’s vision has not only defined a legend but has also led a sweeping renaissance across the Iberian Peninsula.
Wine The younger sibling of Pingus, the 2020 Flor de Pingus Red captures the essence of the estate’s expertise and channels the brilliance of its iconic predecessor. Sourced from carefully selected old vines across five distinct plots within the Pingus terroir, it undergoes meticulous aging in French oak barrels for 18 months, with 20% new wood—a treatment that elevates it to another level. True to the estate’s style, it combines power with remarkable freshness and radiates finesse, all while avoiding any hint of over-ripeness thanks to perfectly timed harvesting. This is the purest expression of the 2020 vintage—a “mini Pingus” that offers a glimpse into the stature of a legend. Rated 94+/100 by Parker.
Vinification Hand harvested. Old vines over 80 years old. Vinification according to a non-interventionist logic. Matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, 25% of which are new.

Vines driven according to the principles of biodynamics.
